I’m proud to offer my clients full access to an extensive, and always growing, client closet full of gorgeous pieces for every body type, and a wide range of dress sizes. You’ll be guided every step of the way while putting together your family’s outfits, whether that’s mixing & matching what you already have in your closet, or adding some new pieces from one of my recommended stores. (Inquire for more info about my buy-back program!) A quick list of tips to get you started: Choose 2-3 complimenting colours/neutrals and stick to that colour palette. Mix textures (chunky knits, corduroy, velvet, cotton, denim, etc). Accessorize with hats, jewelry & scarves. Avoid bright shades of colours that cast and distract. Instead of bright yellow, think muted tones like mustard or goldenrod, etc. Avoid large logos or busy patterns. Think timeless & classic - what do you want to see hanging on your wall 5 years from now?

You’re in good company! I myself have 30 years of experience being awkward in front of the camera. Thankfully I also have a good amount of experience making people feel comfortable from the other side ;) Whether you feel completely natural being photographed, or need some warming up, I’ve got you! My sessions tend to be mix of head-to-toe-poses and more casual prompts to draw out a natural reaction. You might hear me say weird things like “wrap your arms around her and smell her ear!” (trust me, it works!) and if that’s not enough to get you to stop taking me seriously, I also have a 100% track record of tripping over my own feet at some point in our time together. Sessions with me tend to be pretty light hearted and we always get those amazing, effortless looking shots!

I offer a lifestyle lean for every type of session - family, maternity or newborn sessions can take place in the comfort of your home, or if that’s a less than ideal solution for your circumstances, I also offer a more lifestyle approach in my studio - just drop me a line in the contact section and we’ll chat about the perfect way to make your vision happen!

FAQ

Only what you’d normally bring to your baby’s doctor checkup, plus a few extra bottles if baby is bottle fed. That’s it! For studio newborn sessions, all outfits, wraps, hats, bonnets, headbands, and props are provided. If you have a sentimental item like an heirloom baby blanket that you’d love to incorporate into your session, you are more than welcome to bring it along (but I do discourage crochet outfits, large bows or headbands, and big stuffies - they tend to overshadow baby and usually don’t photograph in a flattering way). Opting for family poses in your newborn package? My client closet has options for mom, dad, and siblings as well!

Absolutely! I’m a full service photographer, which means I take care of your session experience from beginning to end. From inquiry to gallery delivery, I am here for you for any questions you have or support you might need. And because I fully believe that JPGs are just baby digital files that want to grow up to be art on your wall, I provide a seamless designing & ordering experience for the highest quality print products, from birth announcements, metal prints and gallery wraps, to layflat embossed leather albums, all from my professional printing lab. Any product orders are shipped to my studio, checked over for any printing flaws by me, and then carefully packaged and hand delivered to you!

Sometimes babies, like us, have a really, really bad day. Those first 2 weeks are hard! Their little bodies are just learning how to digest milk or formula, and that can sometimes lead to lots of gassiness and misery. If baby is having a serious case of the sads, don’t worry! It’s totally normal, and apart from all the usual things I do in studio to make babies as comfy as possible (prep guide for parents, studio temperature, white noise, low lights, lots of time for nursing and settling, etc) there are ways to get around a case of the grumps - extra wrapping and certain poses that can help an angry tummy feel better, for example. In the super rare case where baby is really not having any of it, we will just make a plan to have you come in again on another day. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan, and that’s alright! My goal is always to have you come away with a) an amazing experience and b) images you will adore.
